Went to Amherst for the weekend, I had a great time. This was great and all. I loved having a good time it just made me all the more eager to get back there in the spring but this trip in particular was a little like insult to injury.
It was just last week that I had received a letter from the university about my bill not being paid and that they were going to hold my registration for next semester. This was interesting as I have not been attending this semester. This summer after some crazy paper work I had applied for return in the fall but do to a first come first serve nature of things was told I had a "snowball's chance in hell". I had applied but never heard a response. I sent a lot of emails, left a lot of phone calls. They never gave me an answer as to whether I was accepted back for the fall. Given the "snowball's chance in hell" status I moved on. I didn't hear a word with the exception of the unpaid bill notification.
So I call up, I talk my way through a few "please Hold" sessions to hear that I am currently enrolled for 16 credits and being withdrawn for failure to register for classes. I asked what those 16 credits were then. Long story short I should have been there and some prick in a mail room chucked my letter in the trash or something like that. That and there are like 4 deans that owe me an apology. Never expected to be so royally screwed by the postal service. Anyway I'm not bitter I have made good use of my time. In retrospect it was probably a good idea to take some time off. But seriously, that sucks.
This is one of those cool moments in time where ten years form now I could have a "what if" flashback and imagine how my life would be different if I got that letter...I will just imagine that i win the lottery or something cool like that.
Heres to the Bright side of life!
