Important post the second, also about a cat.

ashbet is a dear friend of mine. Like me, she's an EDSer, and her cats are emotional support animals. Her younger cat, Bastian, is a sweet boy. He's gorgeous, too:

He had to be rushed to the vet today with a partial urinary tract blockage. They haven't been able to get enough of a urine sample to tell if it's inflammation, crystals, an infection, or what.

Guys, I worked in vet medicine for seven years. Blockages are scary. Even partial ones are. Male cats have a narrow urethra, and it can be blocked fairly easily, especially compared to female cats. A urinary tract blockage can cause kidney damage. It can easily be fatal.

They don't know yet if Bastian has kidney damage. They don't know what's caused it yet. He may have to stay at the emergency vet's tonight so they can find out.

All this adds up fast. Andi has taken sudden financial hits recently, and getting Bastian's care paid for is going to be rough. That's why I'm posting.

If you can help financially, please please donate to his care via PayPal at ashbet@gmail.com. If you remember, please change the subject line to, "For Bastian." If you don't, though, no big deal.

If you can't help financially, but still want to help, feel free to repost this, in full or in part. Andi needs her little boy cared for, and Bastian needs the help to get well again. This post is public; feel free to link back.
