that doesn't mean -EVERY BAR IN THE WORLD- has to be a nonsmoking establishment.
there's a nonsmoking bar downtown, called The Mark - the drinks are horribly expensive and the food is silly too... but it's evidently popular with the yuppie nonsmoking crowd...
if any of the other bars wanted to be nonsmoking they could easily say "NO! no more smoking here!" and make a choice for themselves...
but shit... The Reef? The Spar? The Clipper? Chinatown? McCoys(HAHAHAHAHA MARIJUANA Is REGULARLY SMOKED in the back of mccoys!)? THE EASTSIDE CLUB? fucking hell...
_ALL_ of these bars are full every week with regulars that smoke up a storm.
if anyone wants to go to a bar that is nonsmoking one of the bars could easily be persuaded to become the nonsmoking spot...

to have the government say i can't go to the spar and enjoy a cigar with a drink in my hand by the fireplace in plush chairs with some friends? to have the government tell me i can't pound shitty beer and smoke cigarettes with cranky old farts in the morning at the reef while watching the news?
