"So we're different colors and we're different creeds, and different people have different needs. It's obvious you hate me though I've done nothing wrong, I've never even met you so what could I have done? I can't understand what makes a man hate another man, help me understand"
I'm so sick of people acting like what they have to say is so much more important and insightful than what another has to say just by the language and vocabulary used, or maybe by their age and experience. Thinking that they can exemplify their point by simply saying "No, I mean it unlike anyone else" and constantly being a hypocrite, honestly what is the fucking point? To repeatedly say that you are different than anyone else, or try to make your issues and opinions seem more valuable and more worthy than anyone else's, mocking other's and judging the things they say or do, and then do those very things yourself. It's hard to say anything about anyone or much of anything because you never know when you'll do that same thing, or enjoy the same thing.
People take things way too seriously, especially when it comes to anything on the internet. That really annoys me, because everyone says that but then they always end up taking something seriously. If you think you're going to know someone by the things they write about, you're deeply deluded. It's not just with journals, it's also with myspace. Which brings me to another point... everyone talking about people with a myspace as being some kind of pathetic person. Yes, myspace is kind of a stupid concept, especially with the way many members use it. However, I have one and it's good for keeping in touch with friends, family, and bands. It's not as lame and pointless as some might perceive it as.
"Now you're punching, and you're kicking, and you're shouting at me, and I'm relying on your common decency, so far it hasn't surfaced. But I'm sure it exists, it just takes a while to travel."
That whole question of whether people are genuinely good or bad has been on my mind lately. After reading Frankenstein a couple of years ago I thought that people were good, but it was the effects of society that turned them bad. Now, however I believe that people are just bad. After the things I have heard about, and people I have encountered it just makes more sense, no? Frankenstein is a bit different than a human person. It has a lot to do with how a person is brought up, and whether or not all their needs were met, i.e. love, security. It's a hard fact to ignore when it stares you right in the face. I couldn't even say that I am a good person. I haven't murdered anyone, and I haven't commited any serious crimes but I don't show my family the respect they deserve, nor have I shown myself the respect I deserve. Everyone is bad, with some goodness in them. I guess it's hard to be good in a world that is so cruel.
No matter what, we're all people. I have a feeling everyone seems to forget that.
