It's Been A While...
...since I posted anything substantial. Let's see if I can write a quick overview.
I finished school just over a week ago. Took my state exam, passed, and am waiting to receive my skin care license in the mail. I have worried more than I would like to admit about having a criminal history that had to be disclosed on the license application. I'm hoping that it will not be a stain at the beginning of my new career. But the conversations I had with the licensing department and their board makes me feel more optimistic, though I am definitely feeling cautious.
I'm working for a fetish clothing designer for the moment. It's a lot of fun, but definitely hard work. I come home exhausted every day. On the other hand, I am learning so much, and there is always something new to learn. Not to mention that my boss and co-workers are scene-friendly, lifestyle-friendly, and 12-step friendly. It's a much better work environment for me than the last.
Life goes on in it's usual cycle. The weather has gotten colder, so my body hurts more than usual (thanks to my fibromyalgia). Pain is so frustrating! Still feeling the effects of a car accident that happened five and a half years ago. Sometimes I wish I could rewind and change just that one event that changed my life forever. I'll have to write a post about that someday....
I got a phone call tonight as I walked out of work from a friend who I have known since I was born. We hadn't spoken in over 2 years, and he calls to say Happy Holidays. How strange! Last week, I was out with an old friend and found out that the girl who I used to do a lot of drugs with is 8 months clean! I saw her, and we spoke for a few minutes, but she has not called me. I guess people show up when you need them. It doesn't always mean that they will stick around. There are some people who will always be in my life, whether I see them or even speak with them, they are in my heart.
Enough of all that. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday! I know that I am. :)
