I believe some of the confusion may involve the Shinsengumi from my world, which seems to differ greatly from the one the rest of the Shinsengumi come from. For one, they are based in Edo, not Kyoto like the others.

They're all Shogunate dogs, however.

I take it you're from the same time period as well?

Unfortunately so, yes.

Would it be an imposition if I asked to talk to you, too? I find history to be more interesting when given the full picture.

Ah... yes, you're more than welcome to, although I warn you that my world is quite a bit different than the one you probably find written about in your history.

Unless you were also invaded by alien scum.

Thank you.

No.

Katsura-san, is it really necessary to go around calling us that? We don't go around treating you and Takasugi-san like this...

Tch. It's the truth.

Perhaps your side has heard of something called 'tact'. It's rather helpful in the side of strategy that involves avoiding getting people killed.

We could call you traitorous scum, cowards who fight with tactics any real man would kill himself for considering, or over-idealistic fools who can't adjust to the situation like rational adults, but that wouldn't be very diplomatic of us, would it?

Just be thankful that Kondou-san doesn't want trouble here. I'd as soon be rid of you, if you're going to make a nuisance of yourself.

Call me whatever you'd like. I'm used to it.

Or have you forgotten the little matter of you owing me your life here? Some honor you have, to repay us with such disrespect...

I'm sure I would have lived, regardless. And considering it was another 'you' who put me in that state to begin with...

Don't dodge your obligations. You might have lived. And saying that is like me making the other Souji go hungry because mine did something wrong.

Tch. And if I hadn't I would have been free of this cursed place. Don't act as if you did me some grand favor. I didn't even ask for help, Gintoki did.

What makes you certain of that?

And very well. If I ever see you injured and unconscious again, I'll be certain to go ahead and give you the killing blow you so richly deserve.

Either that, or I would have been brought back. I don't consider either option to be much more of an inconvenience than living here already is.

As you wish. It makes no difference to me.
