inspirational thought of the day:

Wouldn't it be great if one could just friend a single tag on someone's journal? Like, say I'm interested in a given person's periodic Battlestar Galactica ramblings/fic but don't really care about their twenty Supernatural posts a day (not talking about anyone here, this is a completely hypothetical situation); provided they tagged the respective posts with, say, "bsg" and "spn", I could just subscribe to the tag I wanted and not get the other stuff. Likewise, people who are just here for my Pirates stuff could just watch my "pirates" tag and wouldn't have to hear me go on about my twenty billion other fannish loves (or read posts like this one!). So, yeah, can I wave my magic wand and have this happen? kthx.

Turns out Starbucks has free wireless now, so my plan wasn't as brilliant as I had thought, but I still managed to resist temptation and write for a couple hours before they closed, and once I got started it was much easier to keep going at home. (Bonus: on the way down there I was feeling sort of wild and crazy and decided to deviate from my normal route, and wound up discovering a promising blackberrying spot for later in the summer.) Anyway, several of the ideas I had have coalesced into one five-things-type story, which is good, but it may be a while before it gets finished since my dance card is kind of full for the next few days. On the other hand, Starbucks totally failed to give me decaf (more precisely, I ordered steamed milk and got a latte, and was too nice to take it back), and my caffeine tolerance of old is shot to hell, so I'll probably be up writing for the rest of the night!
