First of all, I just want to thank everyone that voted NO. You son of a bitches. It's a universal privilage to go to school you fucking idiots. All of you senior citizens and parents that think "the budget is too much" WHO PAYED FOR YOUR EDUCATION?! That's right, your parents, and grandparents and all of the elderly in the county. It's too bad the ( Read more... )

"The budget will continued to get voted down because there will be no more commercial real estate in this town" - Dr. Reidy

It may be tough to pay the taxes in this town, understandable. Don't you think there is a better way to fix the problem with the budget than voting it down? According to Dr. Reidy it will continued to get voted down. I believe that we should be able to participate in sports and have extrordinary opportunities because this is a pretty nice town. I don't want to have to go home at 3 o'clock, it doesn't matter if I'm in Drama or in the Italian club.

No one is forcing anyone to live here, so someone needs to stand up and either fix the situation or move out. Voting the budget down only fixes the situtation for those paying taxes for one year. It will continue to fail if we having to balance it out. As of now, our school and town is slowly falling and everyones houses will be worth nothing. We are the most "violent school" in the area, and we are 1 out of 4 schools to have our budget fail. If the budget continues to get voted no then what will happen to this town?

This town is run very poorly and because of it the students and the tax payers have to suffer.

I guess I just feel that voting no was not the best decision for the town or for the school or the tax payers in the long run. I clearly overstated that.

But how the hell do you know anything about how the town government operates? The town is run poorly because the school budget failed? I'm not going to continue this discussion, but I am so frustrated with people just making these massive generalizations.

I am so glad to be getting away from here. Best of luck for your senior year.

OK, Kevin and Roger both made me feel pretty dumb, I'm not gunna lie. But you are not intelligent at all. I'm not only talking about the school budget vote, I'm talking about all taxes. They would be a lot lower if we had any useful commercial real estate. But the voters and people that want this town don't want that, they want a peaceful quiet area. This town cannot sustain itself without a different tax source other than your parents and my parents. I can see now why Kevin and Roger got so mad at me, because what you wrote is so inane I'm flabbergasted. This town is mismanaged, it's pretty factual considering taxes are so high, not just school taxes.

I agree that voting no was not a particularly wonderful decision, I just got a little angry that you were making such rash comments toward a generalized group when there are in fact many logical, rational reasons why a person would not want to vote yes.

I don't really care though. I don't think I have the energy to fight this budget, so I'll just concentrate on other things this year. And we'll be all the more excited to go to college.
