Title: Subaru/Shota drabbles
Comments: Only one for now. Fluff, G-rated. Slightly longer than an average drabble, but it's just the way it turned out.
Disclaimer: Sadly I don’t own any of the following characters. If I did, I wouldn’t be writing this. I’d be making short movies instead.
Have fun!

11. how to fight stress
It was a rainy Saturday morning. Shota had crashed at Subaru’s place the evening before with a bag full of beer and a couple of rented DVD’s. They had intended to pull an all-nighter and enjoy themselves with alcohol and good movies, but in the end, being rather worn out by work as they were, they both dozed off already in the middle of the first movie.
And now it was morning. They had pondered whether they should go shopping after breakfast, but when it suddenly started to pour down rain, the idea was cast aside quickly and since they weren’t particularly interested in continuing their movie-marathon so early in the morning, they ended up lounging in Subaru’s cramped room instead.
Subaru was lying on his messy bed, long hair sprawled loosely around his head, and stared at the ceiling, listening how the quiet music playing from his laptop harmonized with raindrops rustling against the window.
Shota was sitting cross-legged on the floor next to the bed, surrounded by various colorful nail-polish bottles and tiny brushes in different shapes and sizes and was currently half way through painting his nails green. He was so concentrated on what he was doing that he didn’t even notice when Subaru got bored of the ceiling, rolled on his stomach and was now observing his doings over the edge of the bed.
“Green isn’t your color,” Subaru said casually, resting his chin on his hands.
“Eeh?” Shota raised his hand in front of his face and studied it carefully. “Does it really look that bad?” he asked.
“No,” Subaru yawned loudly in the middle of the sentence, “but it’s not your color.”
Shota grunted something inaudible and proceeded coating his index finger.
Subaru studied him carefully. “You know,” he said when Shota was painting his pinky-finger, “I read the other day that kissing is the best way to fight with everyday stress.”
“Well that’s nice,” Shota answered without looking up.
“Yeah, I think it’s a brilliant idea,” Subaru grinned widely, “and I intend to follow this advice. I mean, if I kissed someone every day, don’t you think that I’d be more relaxed and eager to do things?”
Shota smirked slightly. “Well, good luck on finding a girlfriend whom you can pull out of your pocket whenever you feel like it.”
Subaru rolled on his back again and put his hands under his head. “I guess you are right,” he sighed. “This would be too complicated to achieve.” There was a moment of silence. “Unless…”
“Unless what?” Shota asked
“We’re pretty good friends aren’t we, Sho-chan?” Subaru said, still staring at the ceiling.
Shota turned his head and frowned at him. “Wait, where are you heading with this?”
“But think about it, it would be so convenient!” Subaru beamed and sat up. “I mean, I don’t think it would be awkward at all and plus, you don’t have a girlfriend at the moment either, so…”
“How do you know I don’t have one?” Shota snorted. “Stop acting weird.”
Subaru rolled his eyes. “Pffft, because you tell me everything? And I’m not being weird, I’m being brilliant. It’s just you who is being a square.”
“I don’t know…” Shota drawled out, carefully shaking his hands in front of himself trying to make the paint dry quicker.
“Come on, please…” Subaru made those damn puppy-eyes at him that he used whenever he wanted something. “We could at least try this once? And if it won’t work, it won’t work and then we’ll just never talk about it ever again. Please?”
Shota stared at him, thinking that his best friend was acting unusually strange all of the sudden. It was a common knowledge that occasionally (or quite often in fact) Subaru tended to be weird and clingy, but this was a whole new level to it. Shota wasn’t sure whether he should go with it or just ignore Subaru until his strange mood passed once again.
But Subaru had this annoying smirk on his face which showed that he knew very well that eventually he would get whatever he wanted anyway. When he mouthed a silent “Please?” towards Shota, he just sighed and said: “Fine, whatever.”
“Alright!” Subaru beamed and was off the bed and kneeling in front of Shota before the younger boy could even blink. “Let’s do it then.”
“Uh... r-right now?” Shota stuttered. Subaru was all the sudden way too close to him.
“No, let’s wait a couple of weeks,” Subaru answered sarcastically. “Of course now.”
“But my nails aren’t dry yet,” Shota said helplessly.
“I’ll be careful,” Subaru promised, a mischievous smirk dwelling on his lips. Shota felt himself blushing. This was too weird.
“You are so cute,” said Subaru and without waiting any longer, leaned forward, bringing his hands behind Shota’s neck in a manner that sent a cold shudder running up Shota’s spine. This was definitely not normal. Shota closed his eyes as their lips met softly for a second.
Ok, now this was supposed to be weird. Like really weird. But all of the sudden it kind of wasn’t anymore. When Subaru kissed him again, Shota just stopped thinking. He moved his hands around Subaru’s tiny waist pulling him even closer as their kiss deepened.
“See, wasn’t weird at all,” Subaru whispered, a little out of breath, when they finally pulled apart several minutes later.
“I don’t know…” was all that Shota managed. Subaru was still staring at him with his dark, but warm and beautiful eyes that seemed to be infinite so close up. Had his eyes always been so dark?
“We should do it more often,” concluded Subaru.
“I… I don’t know…”
Subaru chuckled and ruffled his hair. “Don’t tell me that I broke your little brain.”
“Uh, no…” Shota snapped out of his daze. “But you did ruin my nail-polish,” he noted, when putting his arm around the older man who had decided to rest his head on Shota’s chest.
Subaru closed his eyes. “Whatever, you can paint them again later.”
“So, do you really think that it will be good for avoiding stress?” Shota asked, looking out the window. It was still raining.
“Mmm, I don’t know,” mumbled Subaru, a sleepy smile forming on his lips. “I just wanted to kiss you.”
