After living in Manor East, here are my feelings...
The Top 10 Reasons for Living on Campus... and then some!!!
No monthly utilities bills (water, electric, gas)- True
Trash removal/collection - except when an idiot or 2 decide otherwise
Easy walking distance to all college facilities - Yes
Variety of housing options including: traditional doubles, suite and apt. styles.
- limited single options available
No summer lease - True
Dependable "landlords" - RA's do get mad when there is damage and blame everyone
- approachable/accessible
Maintenance always available (24 hours a day for emergencies) - No, not 24 hours
Vacuums, brooms, and mops available free of charge - mops for us, used quite frequently
Telephone - low rates for local & long distance
Cost Efficient - yes
Resource persons at your fingertips
A sense of community - Yes, i did learn to live with alot of different people
Free escort service
Courteous neighbors -Hah!
Neighbor safety watch (free)
- Security Dept. patrols & officers - good job, trying to blame us for everything
Activities planned monthly - Sean was the best
Learning opportunities - learned alot about various drugs
Laundry services in each living facility - what a rip off
Convenient parking - meaning a half mile
Individual mail services
Fiber Optic connections for direct Internet access in each room - if the connection was working
Large living room and kitchen facilities in apartment style housing
Scenic campus grounds - eh
Quiet/courtesy hours - They are only suggested and rarely enforced
