((Okay I'm a huge loser and this charmed me.))

Eiji sits in the ramen shop long after he should have retreated to some trendy nightclub to spend the evening looking bored and feeling superior -- or feeling bored and looking superior, or one of those things. Shibuya by day is a trendy throng, but by night it is a hotbed of glamor and there are certain things expected of a star of his quality.

Probably someone is trying to call him, to ask where he's partying tonight, but he has turned his cell phone off.

He feels strangely comfortable here. He nurses a bowl of the best ramen he's had in ages, and plays Tin Pin with a random child who doesn't recognize him and he loses, and tries to compose an entry for his blog with his cell phone. (The cell phone, which is very fine and expensive and a gift for a photoshoot he did recently, is very hard to use. He will definitely be slamming it in the blog and returning to his CAT model.)

It feels like home, something he hasn't felt in a long while. This damn ramen is making him nostalgic. He wants to stay here forever.

Sebastian -- or Ken Doi, as the man insists on being called -- comes over to clear away his bowl. He has on the pleasant smile he has for the other customers Eiji has seen come and go, and so he blurts impulsively, "Another!"

Then he glances away, recovering his cool. Of course the Prince can request anything he wants. All of Shibuya is his to command. His blog gets a hundred thousand visits a day.

"You haven't had enough yet?" says the shopkeep.

"I can never get enough of this ramen," Eiji says, lifting his voice, even though it feels too private to say aloud. People turn to look. He hopes they recognize him, and that his enthusiasm for the little shop will spread.

"You're welcome here anytime, you know," Sebastian says, cleaning out the old bowl. "You don't have to eat it all in one sitting."

But he doesn't want to leave. He declares passionately, still above normal speaking volume, "Why would I leave when I could eat every meal of the day here! F this ramen!"

Isn't he the Prince? someone says in the background. Oh my god! I heard the Prince F something!

"I'll take that as a compliment," says the older man, amused.

Sebastian was never very trendy.

Still, he brings the ramen, and a tray of gyoza, and says, "The gyoza's on the house," with a brighter smile -- one that Eiji feels is just for him.

The gyoza are also delicious, but it's almost a shame to eat them when just looking at them makes him feel warm and content.
