Shibuya Splurgings [1/?]
Bugsy Malone/TWEWY Crossover
Main Characters: Joshua, Rhyme
Pairings: Main pairing Joshua x Rhyme
Rating: T (just to be safe. I doubt this is that much higher than K+, since it's pretty much Bugsy Malone with TWEWY characters)
Summary: When for some reason Shibuya is in the 1920's and splurge guns have just been invented, chaos is bound to happen. Especially when you get involved in the rivalry between Hanekoma's gang and Sho's gang.
Chapter Index: [chapter one- you are here]
Author's Note: This is my first published TWEWY fic on any writing website EVER, so... hope it's decent? I probably won't finish this, but here's the first chapter for now. This fic is basically TWEWY characters in the plot of Bugsy Malone with a few edits, starring Joshua as Bugsy and Rhyme as Blousey. It probably could work with Neku!Bugsy and Shiki!Blousey but Joshyme gets OTP points. Anyway, thanks to whoever posted the comment that stated that they thought 1920's!Hanekoma would totally run a speakeasy on one of the food for thought posts - that comment inspired me to get off my lazy butt and write this because my brain automatically linked that to Bugsy Malone.

Shibuya was that one place no-one wanted to go but everyone wanted to know. Maybe someone could compare it to a real haunted house - everyone would want to hear about it, but no-one would want to go in there. Most of the information in the newspapers wasn’t because the reporters ventured in, but because they bought it. The station was closed down, due to the fact that no-one used it anymore; everyone took the longer route around the border. Only the most daredevil bands ever performed in A-East, and even then it was only to make them seem brave and epic.

The reason why? Well, if someone doesn’t know, that person wouldn’t even survive. Everyone knows this neighbourhood isn’t for dumb-bums. Shibuya is a warzone - a gang warzone. If you’re in Shibuya for more than a few hours, join a gang or earn the respect of a gang, because no-one gets out of Shibuya. But even those options put you in danger. Joining a gang puts you on a dartboard for the rival gang…

A teenage tanned girl scurried down the murky black alleyway alongside Sunshine leading towards the grimy statue of Hachiko. Every so often, she hurriedly glanced behind her, flicking her long blonde hair a little. Many would suspect her to be a typical teen dared to come to Shibuya by her friends, judging by her fashionable clothing. Fashion wasn’t common in Shibuya, most people preferred easy comfortable outfits with hiding places for weapons over the latest D+B clothing. This often lulled enemies into a false sense of security, thinking that they were dealing with a novice.

But the trick didn’t work this time.

Behind her, a gang of four quietly yet quickly crept up. The leader, a black dreadlocked male of around 29, confidently lead a gang of three cronies who were behind him. The tanned girl couldn’t get a real look at them. Each of the four tightly clutched a gun in their hands, ready to kill. She knew she shouldn’t have taken that alleyway.

The leader of the four began issuing commands to his followers. The one who could be seen wearing orange-tinted glasses was ordered to watch the path to the Scramble Crossing, the one with strands of bright pink hair peeking under her hat covered the path to the Bus Terminal and the pudgy one who wore a belt decorated by a ram skull was told to block the alleyway. She knew she couldn’t escape.

The leader came up to her, letting her notice his bright red headphones covered by his hat. He still tightly clutched his gun, he pointed it at her. She knew she was at his mercy.

“Your name Nao?” he asked, seemingly taunting her, letting her talk while she still could. But all she could muster was a little ‘uh-huh’. She knew he wouldn’t give her any mercy.

“You work for Hanekoma?” he continued, smirking. She gave another little ‘uh-huh’. He knew he was victorious. She knew she would die here. He knew she wouldn’t be able to survive a shot from his new gun issued by his boss. She knew he wouldn’t hesitate to kill her.

A trigger was pulled, a tightly packed tennis-ball-sized sphere of custard cream shot out, it made contact with the girl’s forehead, she couldn’t know anything any more.

Whatever game it was that Nao was playing… sure as eggs is eggs, she had been well and truly scrambled. But joining no-one is dangerous as well. Taking one of the abandoned shops for your own and setting up a business not for one specific gang… there’s a reason the shops are abandoned.

The local barber, a tanned blonde male by the name of Sota, was pleased with himself. He had managed to find an abandoned shop near Udagawa and set up store. And none of the supposed gangs had sprung on him yet… guess it was a lot of bollocks made up by the newspaper to make Shibuya seem like an important place, when really there wasn’t much trouble at all. And he had already met a couple of customers throughout the few days he had his shop open. Life was sweet he-

Sota’s head quickly turned when he heard glass break. Tightly packed balls of custard cream pelted the wide glass window letting people see into the shop, breaking the glass into a million cream-coated jigsaw pieces which scattered on the tattered floor. The broken area was tall and wide enough for a person to walk through. He rushed towards the window to look outside; a foolish mistake. In the dark of the moonless night, he could see the silhouettes of four people from across the street. They were armed with guns that seemed to be filled with custard cream, judging by the mess on the floor.

To Sota, the custard cream guns were a weird choice of weapon. But something told him the guns weren’t to be messed with. He was right, because a mere second later one of the custard cream balls connected with his forehead, knocking him down to the floor. He could’ve been sure the one who fired the shot was the snake-like one at the front of the other three gangsters.

Now, as you can see here, these four gangsters seem to be involved in something extremely fishy, the guns just being the tip of the iceberg. Usually they just aim for Hanekoma’s gang and let the other minor gangs take out the non-allied businesses, but if they were taking matters into their own hands… But these two were the only reported causalities… I should probably stop rambling, shouldn’t I? I just like to know everything that happens in Shibuya and why, even if it means randomly speculating, I guess. Been that way ever since I was young. By the way, the name’s Kiryu. Yoshiya Kiryu.
