[SCA] It Takes MY Child to Raze a Village, cont'd

Jan 20, 2009 17:13

Just out of curiosity, because I think you folks have a terrific sense of humor, if you were running an event of this name, what sorts of activities would *you* plan? I'm giving it to you blank because I want to build on the idea. They've sent me a list of what they did, and I hope to add to it and share back.

Ideas?

Thanks!

There would have to be a "storming the castle" of some sort...

That's what I was thinking, too! Don't they do something like that at Pennsic, where the kids get to storm the castle with water balloons?

Seems like a great way to expose them to siege weapons!

Most excellent!

I wonder if Harsthorn-Dale still has their Castle of Love ramparts...

The original event has marshmellow catapults, which were apparently a big hit.

I know we [Bhakail] have some "Not-Weapons-of-Mass-Destruction" that we were very carefully Not Displaying at Yule...

I think we could definitely have some siege weapon fun. Thanks!

oooooh.... that gives me ideas... I have this catapult, table sized... mini marshmallows... this could be dangerous.

Yup. And they have a blast too (no pun intended). That might depend on the time of year too.

(Water balloons in the Autumn could be really really cold!)

I'm sure we could come up with something... bags of flour or sugar, or bean bags, or something.

Oh definitely. I answered Bertana that I think Hartshorn-Dale has their Castle of Love parts that we might be able to borrow. Hee!
