Feminism can be iconoclastic, and all the more so when it calls itself Third World. But we have all let ourselves be infected with the leprosy of egotism, which remains the most difficult disease to cure, for what egotists, like lepers, inevitably undergo is a loss of feeling and are consequently apt to injure themselves without realizing it. You mentioned that you weren't certain if this post was another mistake or not. Obviously, I can't say for certain. But I can say I understand why you felt the need to write this. I've been in similar positions before, in which I could silently let something blow by, or elaborate my opinions verbally and hope to make amends. Either course will upset some people, and either course will pacify some other people, and sometimes neither is right by anyone. So it's a challenging situation, and I respect that. I believe, essentially? That when you take a stance on anything -- a firm stance -- particularly on a controversial issue? You're going to piss some people off. You're familiar with that hate, as you've said yourself. I'm familiar with it. Any opinionated person who speaks their mind knows what it means to cause controversy and to be perceived as, at best, in the wrong, and at worst, as completely ignorant and toxic.

But I do believe in criticism, and I do believe in learning from your mistakes and remedying them, and I do believe, perhaps most of all, in open discussions in which people are honest with one another and they get it all out there, for better or worse. So I can appreciate that this is exactly what you're trying to achieve, and I sincerely believe your aim is to work through the problem through dialogue. I hope this proves to be fruitful, and I hope this post reaches its intended audience.
