Yup. I don't know how "cult" it actually was, but I frequently did not get the jokes / did not get why the jokes were funny. Despite this, the show had a sizeable following! So I figured it must be cult and that my liking it must make me cool, and tuned in every day.

Think indie music fan and you'll get where this is coming from. XD Jon Stewart is hillarious; I don't really resent him but man, when Craig first left! It was rough.

XD I was just interested by the fact that you watched The Daily Show circa 1999, when Kilborn was still with the show, because according to my infinitesimally narrow worldview/calculations you must've been, what, one or two years into high school back then? Man. Time zooms.

Seven years ago, I was fourteen. So that would have been eighth grade -- no wonder I wasn't getting the jokes, haha.

You ever notice that media can collapse time? Like I could have sworn Interview with a Vampire only came out a few years ago, but it was in 1994! I was seven! Some movies are inextricably linked to a certain time, to you when you were a certain age, but sometimes they exist outside of time, you know? And then you forget how long ago it was.
