Moving Camps

There's no good way to say this, so I'll just say it: I've decided to change bases to Dreamwidth. Too many big, moving, interstitial ads on Livejournal - it's not really that I hate ads, but that they make the site look cheap. I know it's not as annoying when you're logged in (if you are a paid, permanent, or basic account holder). But that doesn ( Read more... )

aww, I'm sad to see you leave. :( I'll try to follow your blog though, you can't get rid of me that easily, ha! I'm sure the reasons you listed for switching to Dreamwidth are good and valid, but I love LJ not for being LJ but for the people on my f-list and the Libs comms. It might be sentimental, but I can't imagine leaving here any time soon. Anyway, I'm glad I got to know through LJ in the first place!

Haha. Of course I would never want to get rid of you! You know how it is though, even if you follow the RSS feed, to leave a comment on the other site you have to click through to the original entry, and then you have to sign in over there... it's a hassle. Maybe you'll get tired of me :p.

I'm still not sure what to do with locked entries, either. Sigh.

Oh, if you want to comment over there, you can made an account just for commenting: http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=123.

Probably the easiest thing is to make a Dreamwidth account for commenting... That's actually quite a sneaky strategy! :P In that way they can convince me of just how awesome they really are and maybe get me to create a real account. ^^

I'm not sure the site is really that awesome, it just has the benefit of having some of the other people I originally met through livejournal on it, and not having ads. XD;;

It's also got the benefit of more communication from the site owners re: future direction, but if you aren't in that scene that doesn't matter to you, anyway.

P.S. I added your journal to my reading page at Dreamwidth so I can keep up with you, ohoho. (Though sadly, it only works for unlocked entries.)

haha, all you're going to miss out on is some (miserable) real life stuff and perhaps some crazy travel and gig anecdotes once in a while... :P I'll make sure to leave some interesting posts unlocked. Will I be able to read all your posts on Dreamwidth with a comment-only account? Well, we'll find out, I guess!

Yay, I'll be on your super sekrit filter! :P I feel honored.

Heee, you'll have to lock in on LJ once in a while then, to see if something terribly exciting has happened. (My guess would be that end of August will see a flood of frantic, possibly drunken Libertines-related gig posts. ^^)

Completely unrelated, but the other day I realized I've stolen borrowed a phrase from one of your comments on my journal for the final part of my story. Hope you don't mind. ;) See, I clearly need your posts/comments for inspiration!

Not only do I not mind, I feel honored! :) I'm sure I stole that phrase from somewhere else anyway.

Aha. August isn't that far away, right? But it's the end of August...that means it's a quarter year away... oh well, I'm sure the time will go quickly.

There is no super secret filter, but if there was one, you would definitely be on it!
