I've always taken a great (and I'll admit rather guilty) pleasure in The Importance of Being Earnest. (Your right, it's a horrible pun, but then when isn't a pun horrible?). I had a Lit Prof explain once that "earnest" was victorian slang for "homosexual" -- so you see, it just gets worse and worse.
>>Oliver Stone's Alexander and I am looking forward to it Yep, I really hope it turns out to be good (not like Troy grr...)
There are horrible puns and then there are less horrible puns, and this wasn't a less horrible pun. Erm. I think the we (the audience) actually laughed at every joke except the very last one which used the title. (Jack/Earnest says: I've now realised for the first time in my life the vital Importance of Being Earnest.) By that point it was just sort of inevitable.
Oh, Troy was terrible. Especially the scene where Brad Pitt yells "Hector! Hector!" because I saw the thing with Star Trek fans and all they could think was "Khan! Khan!" and all they could do was giggle. It was pretty funny and not at all the serious moment it was meant to be.
One try at a less horrible pun: If you and your entire instrumental section are fundraising and you vist a house with a "no solicitation" sign, will you get a soli-citation?

Sorry, it's just a pet peeve of mine. Alexander is one of my favorite historical figures. I am both excited for and dreading the upcoming movie.
Completely unrelated to anything you've posted: Taro has somehow wormed his way into a very important part of the story. Taro. As has "Seiso" Takada, in a smaller role. But I'm almost ready to write, so soon I'll stop adding characters.
about i heart huckabees.. i agree.. i couldn't really understand the point.. it kinda just goes along. it seems like it tries to go deep.. but then you find out that in fact rock bottom is just below the surface. oh well.. not every movies a winner is it?

Yeah, totally. (Although I was lying about the nightmares - I almost never have them because I guess I am not imaginative enough, ha ha ha. The last nightmare I had was about failing a test and the last one I had before that, about failing to turn a paper in on time.)
I ♥ Huckabees was fun, but not brilliant. I was looking for a brilliant movie. Sigh.
AH you're here does this mean I have to watch what I say now? Plese don't be frightened by my geekishness. It does not carry over into RL, I swear.

Alezander wasn't bisexual because bisexuality as a concept didn't exist then. It was about social status, not gender.
