A summary is necessary.
I have gone way over my minutes this month. I have 11 unplayed messages from people that deserve to be listened to.
I went to Utah. Moab treated me better than I treat any of my mormon friends. I don't have any mormon friends.
I drank champagne and beer out of the same plastic glasses. Fell asleep at 1030 on the 31st and woke up at 1150. Went back to sleep at 1215.
Saw the popular (for good reason), and impossible to justly photograph, Delicate Arch in Arches National Park.
Bought 5 books from Half-price books, all of which have to do with photography or hollywood.
Hand-bound two books. One for love, one for Joely. Pictures follow.
The work area looks like this:
Jenna's cover:
Here's the inside front:
Back cover:
The Inside back (it says truly rare objects):
Joel's is a little less photogenic, but I'll post pics anyway. Here's the front:
It says, "Brilliance, the raw colors of childhood's spectrum/ One-eyed jacks are wild."
The inside front cover:
"Relatively dim with only the light/ A corresponding air is evoked."
The back cover (my favorite):
The inside back cover is the most articulate:
"The perpetual 'blue piano' around the corner/ from outside, learning the self/ out in/ somewhat soiled and crumpled white/ corresponding sections in the/ other."
For those of you who are curious the words are taken from stage directions in _A Streetcar Named Desire_ I had an old copy on my bookshelf at my parents house; I tore it apart and went to town on the bound book. It feels good spending so much time on something like this. If I do Americorps in Chicago I'm going to look really hard into going to school for book arts at Columbia College in IL. Lovely indeed.
