Sweat, sleep deprivation, blisters on my feet and 32 bobby pins later....

Mejor tarde que nunca, alas my Prom update is a bit delayed, however I will try and get as much down as I can....

I woke up Saturday morning, anticipating the grand evening of PROM! Everything beforehand was kind of stressful and rushed b/c I still had some odds and ends to get together still, Kiffen came over and did my nails, pick up boutonniere etc. My hair appointment was at 3:00, where I was intoxicated with the fumes of hairspray, unfortunately she didn't get done until around 4:20, which left me about 40 minutes to shower and get ready before Casey picked me up a 5 (ahhh! and you know how long I take to get ready!!) Lets just say I didn't have as much time as I would have wished, but it still worked out.

Once Casey arrived I had some trouble pinning on the boutonniere, my dad ending up stepping in to fix it...awkward, sorry Casey! We made it to Mike's house, where everyone looked absolutely adorable all dressed up. The paparazzi of parents took a bunch of pictures while we stood there, cheek muscles getting sore from smiling, eyes squinting b/c they chose to place us directly facing towards the sun, why I ask?

Finally, better than any limo, we walk out to the Euro-Van. Much to my surprise and excitement, rose petals were sprinkled on the floor and the cup holders were fully stocked with Dasani water. Needless to say, we were riding in style...

We valet the Euro-Van at the Westin and take the bicycle cabs over to the restaurant. Although it was only three blocks away, none-the-less it was an adventure. I had to keep my dress from getting caught in the wheel, caught many glances at our attire and we somewhat safely watched on as the other cab aggressively weaved through downtown traffic. It was absolutely hilarious.

Dinner at Bucco di Beppo, what can I say? Italian family style restaurant = a lot of good food

We make it back to the Westin, fashionably late, around 8:30ish. Spend some time in the corridor, saying hi to everyone, schmoozing with Mrs. Ramos, Bode and the Dugganator. We hit up the dance floor, unfortunately I had to break my tradition of always keeping my shoes on, just thought it would be easier to dance barefoot. Danced the night away, I love it, however it was frickin’ hot, like always, sweated horribly, it was gross. The last dance came too soon b/c I was having a blast, but my aching legs were ready to stop. We grabbed our wonderful ‘prom gifts’, which consisted of a white square candle with a blue lettering of “San Dieguito Academy Prom 2004.” I guess I can’t bag on them too much for that, its probably kinda hard to find a nice gift for low cost.

We hit up Denny’s b/c that is practically the only place we know that stays open after hours. Fortunately before I left, I didn’t discuss a curfew with my parents, I obviously wasn’t going to be home by normal 12:00 curfew, and a new one was not put into play, so I just considered I didn’t have one (?), and I thought I should take advantage of it. We went to Kevin Minnick’s house where he was having some people over, we hung around and yea... Finally I arrived home at 4:30 am (without interrogation from my parents, which is always a plus), I was pretty tired, that's about 12 hours of none stop Prom shenanigans, lets just say I slept well. In the morning I pried the 32 bobby pins out of my hair, pulled out the glued sequins, and took 4 shampoo-ings to get the ‘shellac’ out of my hair. What else can I say? There were a lot of fun details, I had a wonderful group to go with, and overall I had a great time, needless to say my first prom was a memorable one.

AP's are over...for me that is (b/c Im not taking Govt). Its such a large burden lifted off my chest, however I think I should have prepared for them more. Personally, I thought all 3 of the tests I took were pretty difficult, however once again I probably should have spent more time studying (especially for US History). Well I guess its all said and done now, I'm just hoping I don't go 0 for 3.

After the US History Test, Kiffen and I treated ourselves to Beach City Burrito and the laying out on the beach instead of 3rd and 4th period. We people watched, played in the water, and sun bathed, which automatically means I got burned. When will I ever learn? Lets hope it turns to tan. Then I went to see 'Mean Girls' with Carly, Martine and ECD. It was actually not that bad, I liked it, funny at times and entertaining.

I need some sleep now, waking up at 4:40 am for a last history review is not a good sleeping pattern for me. Sorry for the long entry, just thought it should be done.
