Whoa.
Don't let the title fool you. It may be called Les Miserables, but this production will leave you feeling anything but.
The dreary backdrop of pre-revolutionary France is brought to startling reality in the Regents Street Reperatory Theatre's production of Les Mis. But it's not just the incredible backdrop or the moving music that makes this particular staging of Victor Hugo's classic so engaging. It's the performers.
(blahblahblah)
Actor Ash Thomas' (I left off Bigglesby for my stage name, so sue me) performace as Jean Valjean is stunning, and you find yourself experiencing every single emotion right along with him. Valjean's transformation over the many years of his life, is clearly defined and wonderfully executed with earnest passion and quiet grace.
I was in the papers! For me! And they said good things!! Technically they said good things about everyone, but I'm being vain right now. ME! (I am quietly graceful and earnestly passionate apparently...)
We're sold out for the next two weeks. It's amazing. You done well, Deirdre.
