Having bad movie discussions at the 4th party, and hearing different people's tolerance for bad movies, I'm reminded of the joy of (and lost art) of bad 80's action movies. Back when movies about an one man army starred guys that at least looked tough and about not being believable at all. Before the days when Stifler or the Fresh Prince would even be considered for an action roll. Back when action movies were as bad for you as rare red meat. When Rambo fought along side Al Queda, when Bolo Yeang meant something, and an RPG could be fired by a dizzy Rae D. Chong. An art as lost as the buddy cop feature (Martin and Smith try, but they don't even stand up to Belushi and Schwarzenegger. It's like comparing Laurel and Hardy to Farley and Spade.). Movies you don't really like, but watch when you can't decide what to watch. Here were some of our favorites, what are yours?
Commando (a villain in a chain mail vest and young Alissa Milano dismantling door handles, and every bad Arnold catch phrase this side of "Ice To See You".)
Rambo 3 (taking on soviets alongside Al Queda with a kid sidekick, and then the film gives a hearty salute to the courageous soldiers of Afghanistan at the end.)
Missing In Action (Chuck Norris kills a rat with his face. He's done much funnier things without the help of the internet and nerds.)
Bloodsport, Kickboxer, and Lionheart (if only for being the SAME FUCKING MOVIE with little to no changes beyond the characters names and setting.)
Not to be confused with "good" action movies, like Mad Max or Predator.
