Sengoku Basara
Because of error256's recent posts of Sengoku Basara drawings, I was curious and decided to check out this anime (which is originally a video game).
Well, I'm glad I did cos 1) I got meself a distraction 2) this anime is so campy and fun.
So I've completed watching all of Sengoku Basara, Sengoku Basara 2 and Sengoku Basara Movie : The Last Party.
I'm pretty sure I'm one of the last few to check out this anime, whose storyline may differ slightly from game, but if you have not, do check it out. It's action packed and is not draggy. There are some sad moments but then this is about warring states in feudal Japan. In a nutshell, it's about rival warloads who put aside their feuds to form a temporary alliance against despots who wanna rule the whole of Japan. Yeah, a really typical and boring storyline but the characters and the action amply makes up for it.
Most of the main characters in this anime are loads of fun, especially the main 2 characters in the anime series :
Data Masamune aka Dokuganryū (One-Eyed Dragon) is very cocky and has a tendency to pepper his speech with English. Surprisingly, it does not make me cringe and I found it quite entertaining. LOL!
Sanada Yukimura's relationship with his mentor/warload, Takeda Shingen, is so embarassingly corny, you can't help but adore them. (Oyakatasama!! Yukimura!! Oyakatasama!! Yukimura!! - makes me lol each time without fail.)
