So, on Monday one of the girls from work had a going away party for herself (she's moving back home to australia)
I was thinking as I sat drinking my magners (god I'm going to miss that stuff in canada) that I was with a group that just wouldn't occur anywhere but here.
I was with Christina, the australian, but also a girl from poland, germany, cameroon, bulgaria and a guy from sweeden and one from france (each of those place names after the girl is a different girl from a different place). We're all here for differnent reasons, but you have your instant bond because you're not from here, but you live here. You're not just another tourist.. And trying to explain what that feels like to anyone who hasn't tried it... almost impossible.
The real thing is, that this isn't rare. These kind of gatherings exist all the time. I know only one other person who lives here from Canada, otherwise my friends are from all over the world. That just doesn't happen at home, and you all become almost instant family, because you have to you know? Though I will admit I was the only one there who didn't come to a job, a friend or school. Everyone else had SOMETHING established before they got here. I think if I come back, which I suspect I might, then I will figure something out a head of time.
Anyways, that is enough of my rambling. I need to head home to a hopefully bug free environment. The exterminator didn't come on Monday and they were supposed to come today instead, see if they do!
