Random Ramblings

Ugh. Tuesdays are my Mondays. Today hasn't been too bad thus far, knock on wood. But it's early.

I did NOT clean up the bird room over the weekend, and I fully admit it is because I was too lazy to do it. Ratatouille has not shown his furry little sharp-toothed face in several days. I'm hoping a coyote ate him.

I'm trying to switch my cats over to Skoon litter. I have been using walnut litter because it's lighter and easier to carry than clay (plus, since it's biodegradable I can just chuck it in the woods when I clean out the boxes), but I am soooooo tired of the brown dust everywhere. Skoon is larger pebble-like litter made from diatomaceous earth that is supposed to absorb the urine and kill odor. I ordered two of their collapsable boxes and they arrived yesterday. So I cleaned up the litter area a bit and then put the two boxes right in front of the current boxes (I use two large plastic storage bins with a large entrance hole cut into the lid of each.) This morning I caught Percy (the tabby) actually peeing and covering in the skoon (and praised her profusely), so I think we're on the right track. Getting Rasta to use it may be a totally different story - he's my sweet little simpleton!

I'm just sitting here in the AC at work, musing on the green leaves in the park across the street again. The heat has been inching up again, and now our AC at home doesn't work. I've tried all the DIY I know, but nothing works - the compressor just doesn't kick on. It's also too large of a unit for me to move (it's either 10 or 12k BTUs), so we are waiting on the roomie's nephews to pull it out of the window and replace it with a backup. This MIGHT happen before winter....

I'm in my mid-40s and I STILL don't know what I want to be "when I grow up." I find this very frustrating. Well, that's not entirely true: I've always wanted to be a writer, I just don't take the time to work at it. Not sure why. Perhaps a fear of failure?

Does anyone here play the Sims 4? It's one of my favorite ways to destress and escape the world for a while. I just completed building a house similar to one in the town where I work, and I am mighty proud of it. Here's a link if you are interested.
