Home alone - Day 4

Oct 08, 2009 08:01

So what happened to days 1 through 3, you ask? I just couldn't be bothered to write anything before now (let's not even mention the fact that I am currently "sans computer" at home.)

Tam left for Vancouver on Sunday, and she will be gone for 6 weeks. Yeah. That is a long time.

So that could only mean one thing for a married mad holding the fort on his own. Yup, you got it. I was left with "THE LIST™" of things that my darling bride has left for me to do while she's away. Of course we all know that the majority of the list will only be done the last few days before she returns home, right? ;o)

Actually, that's not entirely true. I've already (mostly) emptied out the office in preparation of converting it into the nursery. Baby is not due until March, but it be best to get the work done now so that the fresh paint smell has a chance to disipate before Tam's return. As it stands, it is my intention to get the majority of the painting doen this coming weekend (any of my LJ friends living in Montreal are welcome to give a hand!)

What this also means is that the basement which has been acting as an unused bonus room will now be my new office/exercise/gaming room. I'm looking forward to this. I'm especially looking forward to getting some of the electrical improvements done to accomodate my new setup (as it stands, the entire basement, garage, and part of the main floor are all on the same circuit! This is the main reason I'm currently sans computer at the moment.) What I'm really going to enjoy, though, is having a large-ish open space to setup a gaming table. I'll finaly be able to get my table-top stuff out of mothball and start using them again.

Tam is also getting a bit of a treat, as I am re-organizing her office (she already knows about this.) It will be interesting to see what it will look like after all is said and done.

So yeah, nothing "too" exciting, however all these changes are definitely going to make things a little more dynamic at the house for the next few weeks.
