of course! Thank you, I like meeting new friends. I have many friends in Russia, but none from Sochi -- most of all of my friends live in Moscow, but of course new acquaintances from everywhere are warmly welcomed.

I lived in Moscow for a few months last year to study at a university as well, but I'm afraid my Russian is quite poor. I'm certain that I am learning Russian, probably much more slowly than you're learning English :)

well i live in new york now, studying at NYU so i have to learn english FAST... new yorkers have no time for waiting, even other immigrants!

i am glad to have a new friend from the south, as you said about sochi, i have not met anyone from the south besides my roommate from virginia. is it true that southerners have the most american pride? hehe. :) i would like to visit one day, but i will need a bucket of sunscreen. russians are not supposed to see light.

I can imagine; I sometimes have difficulty understanding New Yorkers myself! I have a few friends and family members who live in the North East and they talk circles around me ( ... )

mmm! i should visit texas soon, if there is a day that i can afford it. You should give me some oil for my flight, if you ever have any money left after paying for $4 gas.

i saw that you are upset that you cannot fly trans-atlantic... so am i. i really miss my parents and i am ready to swim to sochi! sochi is like texas in that it is also laid-back and different. i like sochi people better than muscovites because they have seaside souls, you know? so friendly even if they are sometimes slower. if you return to russia, you must go in the summer and swim in the black sea. you will meet the loveliest girls. ;)

heheh; I actually grew up in a relatively small town on the coast of Texas, so I imagine it's very similar to Sochi, in terms of lifestyle...so I definitely must go to Sochi then :) If you're comfortable with that kind of life, then it's not much different here; I think you would find comfort and genuinely friendly people.

If you were to visit, I would offer a place to stay, but in August I am actually going to be traveling to Italy for a year to study for graduate school, then I move to Washington DC for a year... It's so expensive to fly overseas, especially as Americans with the poor value of the dollar right now, so I hope to find a flight that's reasonably priced.
