My most abject apologies for my absence which has stretched on for far longer than I had intended! I spent a glorious week in Malaysia feeding sting-rays and eagles and being put into a net behind a boat and being dragged out into the ocean. The country is so beautiful and unlike anywhere else I have ever been. Langkawi was thickly forested and the noise was intense at all hours of the day and night because we were staying in a wooden house in the middle of the jungle. Monkeys came marauding on our balcony and I liberated a scorpion that had found its way into the road.
Me: Be free my little arthropod friend! *Pokes with stick* Save thyself!
Scorpion: Fucking tourists.
The flight was a bitch, and with the stopover in Kuala Lumpur on the way back and the three hour drive home from the airport I ended up travelling for about 23 hours in total, all of which was conducted in daylight so I couldn’t sleep at all. I did purchase many a wooden Buddha for my unfortunate friends and I got asked to a disco by the man who drove me around in a bus.
Man: Yugodisgo?
Me: Say what?
Man: Disgo. Yuandme.
Me: Yes the fish was lovely, thank you.
When I got home though I found that AOL has been lost and bewildered in my absence and as a consequence would not let me on the internet at ALL. Bastards. I have been trying and trying, breaking into tears, fishing my computer out of the lake in which I had thrown it in a fit of pique and then trying again. All to no avail! And then lo, finally, the great gods smiled upon me and I could get online. My world was complete once more.
Or rather it would be if they hadn’t taken Top Gear off the tv because Richard Hammond rocks my world and is the cutest thing since someone put a cat in a bonnet and took a photo of it. Have any of the Brits out there seen Top Gear? For those who haven’t it’s a show on which three presenters test out various cars and do stupid stuff with them and one of the presenters is so hot and drives round in Bentleys, after which I have to go and have a little lie down.
How’s the fandom been in my absence? I notice many an update which has caused me great joy. The Shadow of His Wings by Mirabella is going from strength to strength and I am finally getting into the LMH sequel, which I admit I had not been enjoying as much as the original but now I can’t get enough. Underwater Light has been updated at last, along with Adamant and Starlight and rumours of LUW as well! Could life get any better? *images flick to mind of Angelina Jolie pole-dancing* well, yes, probably but it would take something pretty spectacular. Like Angelina Jolie pole-dancing. IN A BENTLEY!

I really want to go out tonight but all my friends are being responsible and anti-social and I am forced into solitude with only vast amounts of cake and slash to keep me company. Anyone who fancies journeying up into the wilds of the English countryside then feel free to join me!
Ooh! There is a fit Cuban bar man at the local coffee shop at which I spent the majority of my time who always gives me free caramelised biscuits and has recently taken to talking about my breasts. But I have the horrible feeling that he has a wife. Or it might be a knife. His accent is rather thick and he’s occasionally difficult to understand.
Has anyone out there bought James Blunt's 'Back to Bedlam'? It is one of the BEST cd's I have ever bought and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Track 5 is about Dorian Gray. Dorian Gray! *squees inwardly* Any singer who's read Oscar Wilde should be moulded in gold and hero-worshipped.
I owe so many updates! I’m really sorry I’ve fallen so behind but exam time is upon me again like so many of the writers out there and over the next few weeks I will be found ensconced in my bedroom behind a huge stack of books, occasionally venturing out to peer palely at the sunlight and nibble at a moth-eaten biscuit. After my exams are over I shall have more free time than you can shake a stick at and then THE SLASH SHALL ABOUND!!!!! Seriously, thou shalt have all the slash in the world.
I just went a-searching to see if there was anything I’d written that I could put up to tide you guys over but I couldn’t find anything finished so I’m sorry about that. I’m also very sorry that I haven’t had time to reply to all the fabulous comments that you guys left for my last post. I very rarely get online time these days but I sincerely hope that I will be able to answer each and every single comment before long! I will answer every comment, I promise. I also owe marielyuy one mother of an email, as well as finjeof who has to put up with me on a daily basis and who consequently deserves emails spilling out of her ears.
