Who are you taking adv. creative writing with? Because I'm considering possibly taking one of them, but I don't know the teachers and I'd like to take it with at least a few people I know (if I can even get in this late...gulp!) Please answer and tell me what teachers are like! The options are:

Anderson
Beller
Hankla
Miller
Moeckel
Tretheway

Anderson - prefers to be called TJ, is more into experimental poetry than anything else, and I do beleive his is a poety only workshop still. Some crazy weird experimental and unconventional poetry things come out o his workshop. his class isn't very structured and memorization will be a part of it. He may or may not ask for peeps to do book reviews. He does really spirited readings and he's really into surrealists. but he's flexibles and he's up to read most anything. He might allow more interaction in his workshops that others. He just came from sabbattical. Got good stories. Fun guy.

Hankla - she's kinda tough on you, might be grading tough, might just be comment tough. If she thinks you're not putting in a lot of effort she's not gonna be happy with you. She also might have some really interesting insights this semester because she's teaching a new awesome course she's excited about. she can be a little awkward, but she's good. her workshop is a little differnt from what you might expect. It probably an intersting workshop mix but she has a rep for being kinda hard and scary.

Moeckel - is a crazy moonman. he's young and weird and kinda eccentric. He kinda wants to be a buddy, memorization will be expected, more or less depending on class size. He's new, and likes to look at fiction or poetry. He's accepting and nice but he's not afraid to say what he thinks. And he can get agitated about thinks but he will say what he thinks kinda openly. Thorpe would love to see any type of writing, really.

Tretheway - He's a silly old man. He seems kinda gruff and intimidating, but he's not really, and he likes people to talk a lot in his classes and workshops. He will discuss things rather heatedly and will argue in class, but he has strong ideas but he won't hold it against you (it's a good thing). He's written and taught both fiction and poetry and so he's interested in both. He can get kinda technical and he's more formal than some of the others, but really, he's stilll a silly old man whose just looks scary.

Beller... Dunno beller. Elaine thinks he might be the new visiting professor.
