I haven't posted since I came to Wellesley. I kept a journal in a moleskin notebook for about 3 weeks (...writing once a week), but now I'm apparently being stalked, so it's time to give my viewers something incriminating and recent.
The Vehicle Design Summit at MIT is the more unnerving of the two possible summer things I could do. It's led by two incredible undergrads, is in its second year, has no structure, and demands initiative. but! it pays, and in paying, will feed and house me. The other summer thing at Olin doesn't pay or provide housing (until midway through summer), but I'd have a pretty good idea of what I'd be doing and know the people involved.
But that isn't even the issue- though it was the issue before I went and had my emo hiccup. The issue is: why the hell am I spending my summer in Massachusetts working with engineers on a vehicle design or business start-up? Why the hell am I staying at Wellesley? Why am I here when I have the potential to be more relaxed and happy elsewhere?
I know, "connections" and "networking," but why? What for? What am I resume building towards? What am I missing out on, and what would I miss out on if I went home to California instead?
So, I'm reading Franny and Zooey, and some books from Raven Used Books in Cambridge, and trying to calm down, think clearly, and make choices.
Agh.
