It has been ridiculously cold this winter, and spring, and now as we approach summer it's still damn chilly. So I have made the best of the weather, and indulged my love of scarves.
I am thrilled that scarves are such a big deal this season. I am extra-thrilled that even men's fashion has picked up on scarves, because the men's styles are often much more to my taste, in terms of colour palette and design.
I had a whole bunch of pashmina-style scarves anyway, but this spring I have bought another four (
picture here) as I try to adjust my wardrobe in light of having shorter, redder hair than I used to, and as I get used to wearing more colours together. The red, white and blue and olive check scarves are both men's (Fat Face and H&M, respectively); the camel one is something generic (and cheap) from TK Maxx, and the orange and pink one is from Fat Face.
Today's outfit: olive green checked scarf (bottom in the linked photo), cream marled sweatshirt, olive green bootcut babycord jeans, and right now, a pair of nude ballet slippers that are a complete throwback to my early teens, when I first realised that jeans and ballet shoes were actually kind of a cool look (of course, I only dressed like that to go to ballet class; sadly I wasn't that far ahead of the curve.) The bow even tightens the shoes! They were from Next, but sadly I can't find them on the website.
I am absurdly happy with this outfit :)
