In which Goldilocks speaks too soon
Yesterday, I whinged. Not least about Gap.
Today, I wandered into Gap to soothe my frayed nerves after a visit to the dentist (not one but two injections in order to replace fillings; respect to my dentist, though, he never has to scrape me off the ceiling. He's a pro.) ... the shop is just around the block from the dental surgery and seems to be where I go afterwards to calm down (and amuse the shop staff by being unable to speak properly through my rubbery lips).
I spent a few minutes pawing the merchandise and making eyes at the nice cotton/linen mix trousers and beautifully-coloured vests. And then I thought I'd just give the jeans a go. You know, to show I was making an effort, and all that.
Long story short: I bought two pairs of these (one in regular denim blue and one in the colour shown in the link, which is both darker and more worn-looking). They sit properly on my hips and look fabulous (though I will need to wear them in a bit, so the knees get baggier).
Then I came home and vetted my wardrobe for Stuff I Just Don't/Shouldn't Wear.
Result: slightly pared-down wardrobe with nothing I am embarrassed to go out in, and jeans crisis finally averted. Yay!
