Business troubles.

So what the hell does a guy have to do to get some business around here lately, anyway...? And how the hell are you meant to advertise demon-hunting? I can't exactly take a vacation if there's no work to put off...

I could ask around? I'm sure there's some wizarding families with problems. If there was, they would pass it round themselves.

Yeah, go ahead. Any work is good work and wizards probably have extra money to throw around, anyway...

They'd probably pay you a lot if they couldn't get rid of it themselves. They'll probably pay you just for keeping quiet about the fact they couldn't get rid of it in the first place.

.. and if you did a good job, they'd tell each other. You'd soon become famous 'underground', I guess.

Even better. They use normal money, though, right?

Hey, of course I'd do a good job. I've been doing this since I was a kid, y'know, I'm a professional.

Yes. It used to be different, but then it was changed.

I know you'd do a good job. Some would be too prideful to admit you were.

Good. One currency's way easier to follow, anyway. What, they have their own nation in the Old World?

That's their problem. Not admitting I'm good would just make them look even worse because they couldn't deal with it themselves. There aren't many wizard demon hunters, I guess?

Galleons, Knots, and Sickles. It's pretty simple, but after the dome was set up, the Ministry couldn't uphold it anymore.

No. Demons are.. relatively new by our standards. they don't even tell us about them at school.

...I think I'll stick with dollars.

Relatively new? You're kidding, right...? They've been around since the beginning of this world, even I know that.

They're nothing - nothing - about demons in A History of Magic. Which is absurd. And nothing in the library at school, either. It's either they don't want us to know, or even they didn't know.

It doesn't make sense that they wouldn't know, they can't be that stupid if they're teachers and professors and that. Must be that they don't want you to know. Kind of stupid, though...

If they did, it's not the first time they've kept us in the dark. There are powers controlling the professors, so, that might be why they haven't told us at all.

Besides, with all the stuff going on in the city at the moment, it's better just to tell us and let us be prepared.

Maybe they're embarrassed because they can't handle fighting high-level demons. Or they just don't want to admit there's stuff out there they don't understand.

The later is probably nearer the truth.

It's probably for the best. An entire school of kids trained to fight demons would be seriously bad for business.
