This was during my Jane Austen faze this Summer.
"Wild Hope"
She had learned to assume his intentions to be shallow and void of the appropriate feelings to signal her concern. However, she found herself interpreting his actions in favor of her thoughts. Thoughts that had no merit of accuracy; thoughts which she deemed silly, in order to laugh away his failure to provoke further interest.
When the stage on which he preformed was stripped away, all that remained was her wild hope. His shortcomings in this arena could only be disregarded in a way that suggested she was at fault of the correct understanding.
Despite all this, she could not help favor his company. She had convinced herself, against her better judgment that she was in error of the correct encouragement. However puzzling his actions was to her, she was unwilling to except the critical opinions of her friends. Her hopes remained unchanged, at least for now.
