This time around, I was planning on doing a couple quick Hyunseung IDs, but I thought that I would go ahead and throw in all the other Vans IDs that I have. I'm starting to like identifying shoes ^^ They were never my favorite items to ID in the past, but they're actually fun to do! Now if only I could afford BEAST's shoe collection...
MARIOS City Skyline Crew Sweatshirt (AW'10-'11) $235USD [Available Here]
This sweatshirt is from their "I Hate Summer" collection. There's also a matching pair of sweatpants that have the same motif on them ^^ Btw, MARIOS is based in Italy. You have no idea how many SNES and pizza results I got when I first started looking for them @___@
Vans x Bad Brains SK8 Hi (Spring 2009) $70USD [Available Here in Womens]
Vans created these SK8 Hi's in tribute to the legendary hardcore punk and reggae band, Bad Brains. The bright yellow lightning bolt on the sides of the shoes is inspired by the artwork on the band's 1982 self-titled album, "Bad Brains." I'm actually really curious to know if Hyunseung has ever even heard of this group before?! Makes me wonder whether or not people actually take the time to look at and research the prints on the clothing they wear? Anyway, the buy link I posted is for the womens shoe. I also came across a listing for the mens version that went for as high as $175USD!
Vans (Retro) 30th Anniversary SK8 Hi approx. $80-$???USD [Availability Unknown]
It took me a while to ID these. In fact, I'm not 100% sure that these are the same shoes that Hyunseung is wearing in all those photos above. I can't believe that I have that many shots of his shoes, but none of them are close enough for me to see the print D: Anyway, from the shape of the shoes, I think this ID could be correct. These SK8 Hi sneakers were released back in 2008 as part of a collection of shoes that Vans produced to celebrate their 30th anniversary. I think the price range varies on these shoes because they're not new releases and from what I know, Vans won't be re-releasing them in the future. Oh! If anyone out there actually has a clear shot of the print on Hyunseung's shoes, please let me know! Thanks :D
Vans Vault “Akita” SK8 Hi LX (Fall 2009) approx. 12,800 yen [Availability Unknown]
This was actually a request by rawringpanda. He thought they could be Vans, but it's hard to tell because in all the shots I have of the shoes, you can't see the details on the side. For a while there, I actually thought these could be by Mad Foot because of the red logo/writing on the tongue. Also, from that fanpic above, I noticed that there seemed to be some sort of texture to the shoes, so they're not just plain red patent leather SK8 Hi sneakers. I finally found what I was looking for while I was doing the research into the other Vans sneakers in this post ^^ Btw, these SK8 Hi shoes are crocodile embossed patent leather. They also appear to be sold out, however, I think you can still find them on Japanese auction sites, as well as on Rakuten. Please do your research before you buy from any store - online and off!
