(no subject)
I was late for work today, and I hate that. I try to get here on time but it never seems to work out that way. Especially when you're sidetracked by your head being in the toilet while your vommitting foreign liquids. I haven't been able to eat much of anything but soup, which is fine because I love soup :-)
I've had a nice break from it since the oral surgery; I definitely got tired of only being able to eat soup everyday for weeks...bastard dentist. Anyway, so this came out of nowhere. I was feeling a bit queasy and achy with headaches and a little fever at the beginning of the week, but by thursday I was feeling it pretty badly. I was supposed to help with orientation, but by the time my shift was over I was in fetal position on the futon and only wanted to go home. I left a note for Charlea that I wasn't gonna go, though I should've called, but at that point getting into bed was all I could think about. I had to come to work, but being here isn't so bad on weekends of I'm not feeling well. I'm basically on overflow, so not too busy. I just need to wait for Matt to bring me some soup and I'll be fine taking it easy on the futon until I get a call.
Anyway, enough about all that. My interview at DISC Village went well. They're doing the background check right now and they'll get back to me some time next week to figure out my placement. Supposedly, I'll be working at the Juvenile Assessment Center assessing kids who are coming into the substance abuse program probably for probation or some kind of mcourt mandated thing. They'll tell me more about it later, ofcourse, but I get to work one on one w/these kids, which is kinda freaking me out a bit, but who knows maybe I'll enjoy it. My other option there is working at the residential women's substance abuse facility helping with the group counseling sessions and stuff like that. I can only work nights and weekends there so those 2 are my only options, which is fine by me.
I'm also supposed to be volunteering at TMH, but I won't know what I'll be doing there until the orientation Feb.17th
I have my month cut out for me, so hopefully this flu or whatever won't screw me over in the process
