sendspacemediafire After I listened to the track "Skimming Rooftops," I had a crush on this band. Once you listen to "Same Suburb, Different Park," you realize it's a little more than a crush. By the time you finish "By Night," you are head-over-heels for the soft vocals and instrumentals of the Firekites. The Bowery is one of my favorite albums of all time. I have a distinct memory of listening to The Bowery while I was reading in a quiet, little cafe on a Friday morning. The sun was keeping me nice and toasty while I listened to the hushed vocals and pretty acoustic pieces, and I just remember feeling like everything was right and beautiful in the world. It was a small moment, but it is one of my happiest, and the Firekites made it that special to me. I know this summary doesn't say much about the actual music, but the feeling you get after listening to this album is much more poignant than the ingredients to their sound. Please give this band a try; I hope you'll fall in love, too.
