[ His eyebrows draw together slightly. ]

You're talking to the guy who followed you to work every day for a week. You really think I'll take that?

[ A long. awkward. pause. ]

[ Another beat. Then, echoing a bit flatly: ]

[ He winces and then raises both of his hands. ]

Listen, just-- I don't want to fight with you over this, okay?

That's a fucking stupid reason.

[ Kett obviously has no problem starting a fight. ]

[ He just. Stares at him. Eventually he presses his lips together and shoves his hands in his pockets and turns to go. Normally, Eli would just call Pallas, but not today. ]

[ Without thinking-- instinctive aggression, or something else-- he reaches out and catches Eli by the shoulder, just a hint of unintentional super strength in his grasp. ]
