The new and revised Inventory

Jul 13, 2007 00:54

This is a new and revised version of the old inventory. After almost two years of continuous travel we are a bit smarter, and more experienced. For example, no way we are buying Travel TP again...

Below the cut I will be showing the new additions, criticizing some of our old choices, and showing off my favorite travel gadgets.

The items in red will be the once we took with us in the beginning, but turned out they were total BS
In green are tested and approved gadgets, or just something I strongly recommend
Don't forget that link colors very from journal to journal.

Toiletry Kits

We used to have a His and Hers kits, but ended up rearranging to Dry and Wet kits instead.
This way it's also more helpful to a single traveler.

Wet:
  • Retractable Razor (+ Cartridges)
  • Clever Toothbrush - holds Toothpaste (~2 weeks) Messy and bad at its job.
  • Toothpaste
  • Shampoo (2 in 1)
  • Lens Box
  • Lens Solution
  • Eye Drops
  • Pumice Stone
  • Toothbrushes
  • Wet-naps
Dry:
  • Travel Toilet Pepper Oh just take the TP of the carton roll and be done with it!
  • Dental Floss
  • Earplugs
  • Mirror
  • Nail Clipper
  • Shampoo
  • DOVE Deodorant
  • Foldable Brush with mirror in Handle
  • CLINIQUE Face Moisturizer with SPF 30
  • CLINIQUE Small Mascara
  • MAC Lipglass
  • MAC Concealer
  • Nail File
  • Tweezers
  • Everyday Panty Liners
  • Tampons
  • Birth-Control Pills
  • Condoms

For girls only:
  • Freshette. A great product for anyone with penis envy, or just the desire of not having your behind being exposed to cold, bugs, or prying eyes.
  • DivaCup Came strongly recommended by a very environmentally cautious person. Not "green" as I am yet to try it.
  • Victoria's Secret "Body" is amazing if you have more then "mosquito bites" like some hiker girls. I've searched for a good sport's bra that can handle me, but just ended up buying a few of those. For extreme treks I do have a "sports bra" but it's more like a bullet-proof vest.

Preventative Measures

Prescription:
  • Ciprofloxacin tab 500 mg - Anti-Infective. Very useful and easy to buy abroad.
  • Mefloquine HCL tab 250 mg - Anti-Malarial
