Oh my darlin', give me reason, give me somethin', to believe in

This post is going to serve no purpose but I just felt like sharing, in no particular order, what KMFDM albums I feel are the best. Because I'm bored and listening to them (MUST GET 3000 LISTENS).

Nihil
I'm pretty sure this would be on every KMFDM fan's list as one of their best but it really is. It's almost perfectly put together in terms of track order, and the mixture of actual instruments with synths is close to 100% (I'd argue that Symbols probably holds that title.) Neither really overpowers the other, and it's also home to one of my favorite songs ever, Brute.

Symbols
Yes, Megalomaniac is overplayed, but the rest of the album is amazing. Like I said above, I feel like this probably fuses synthesizers and guitars the most effectively of all their albums. Plus, Torture, Unfit, Down and Out, Waste and Stray Bullet are awesome. Anarchy is pretty great too.

Tohuvabohu
Not going to lie, the last few "modern" KMFDM albums have not been that good. Attak is one of my least favorites, Hau Ruck was boring (except for some choice tracks like Mini Mini Mini and Professional Killer), and WWIII was almost too overtly political (still a great album though.) Tohuvabohu kind of reaffirmed my faith in the band, if you will. The title track is great mostly because Sascha does something different with his voice. The rest of the songs really just keep the momentum going, except for Saft und Kraft which is a little weak. Los Ninos Del Parque tries to do what Mini Mini Mini did but it's not as successful. However, Bumaye alone makes up for the two aforementioned songs. Tohuvabohu made me excited for KMFDM again, and I can't wait for the next album (Blitz, due out this year.)

XToRT
I don't know why I like this album as much as I do. I just love it. It wasn't really a good follow up to Nihil and it doesn't really hint at what was about to come (Symbols), but I think that may be why I like it. It's kind of like their weird middle child who gets left out because they are the middle child.

Money
I actually like this album more than Angst. Like XToRT I don't know why, but I just do. Probably because Sex on the Flag, Spiritual House, Bargeld, and one of the many Godlike versions (I Will Pray) are on it.

What Do You Know Deutschland?/Opium/Don't Blow Your Top
These are all getting lumped in the same category since they're all from the same era. They're really great and fun, and a nice break from the social and political commentary 90s KMFDM makes. It's just fun, sometimes goofy, music. Granted, KMFDM bites off a lot of Zappa lyrics (especially on WDYKD and DBYT, iirc), it's still enjoyable to listen to.

Just Barely Missed the Cut
Angst and Adios. I know what you're thinking - HOLY SHIT, ADIOS? ARE YOU MAD? No, I quite like Adios after listening to it a few times. It's no Angst for sure. Hell, it's not even Naive: Hell To Go. But it is a decent album and I liked the kind of weird new direction KMFDM took with it. It was a noble effort on their part. Angst didn't make it because I find I can't listen to it several times in a row like I can the other albums.

I'm either not sleeping well or my brain just hates me because I'm more tired than usual lately. Also my heart has been acting up, so I called my mom and brought it up and we're gonna find a doctor and maybe I'll finally find out what's wrong with me. We've decided I should stop taking the new acne pills because they can do some funky stuff as side effects and I think they are to me, so yeah. No more of that shit.

School is boring, and I'm having a hard time adjusting to the schedule for some reason. Winter quarter is always the worst quarter though, so it's okay. But I want to go to class today so I'm pretty excited. Well no, I'm not excited, I'm just glad to be going to class because I like this class and also I didn't go last week (lol -30 degree weather fuck you.)

I think I will get Potbelly before I go to class today.
