CANON + HEADCANON INFO

Jul 08, 2010 11:29

Canon includes Batman: The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, the Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub Zero, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, Batman Beyond, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (unedited edition), and the crossover episodes with Superman: The Animated Series, Static Shock, and the Zeta Project.

*phew!*

In every case, if there's a contradiction between two different series, the one specifically starring Batman overrides the other. For example, the issue of when Terry met Ro, which is presented in two different ways in Batman Beyond and the Zeta Project- while both episodes are canon, Terry met Ro the way it's portrayed in Batman Beyond.

There are some influences from the DCAU comic books (Gotham Adventures, the Batman Beyond miniseries, etc). The events haven't necessarily happened, but the information provided in them is canon unless it contradicts something from the tv series. For example, Bruce spent one summer of his teenage years wrestling alligators in a roadshow, because that's some backstory thrown out in conversation, but he never necessarily spent a day fighting crime while taking care of a baby.

Influences taken from the regular universe DC comics are minimal, and mostly involve dates and ages.

The Teen Titans animated series isn't canon, but it hardly effects Bruce at all, so it wouldn't come up in conversation even if it was.

Notably NOT CANON: Batman Beyond 2010 miniseries I swear to god DC

HEADCANON
It's been about two years since Bruce met Terry.

Bruce has had Ace for three and a half years.

Return of the Joker takes place after season 3.

Bruce knows that Terry is his son, but hasn't told anyone. Superman also knows, though we don't know how.

Bruce has, at some point in the past, slept with Andrea Beaumont, Barbara, and Talia al Ghul (pre-Ra's thing). His love interests beyond these three also include Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Lois Lane, and Zatanna, along with all the women he was with for his playboy reputation.

He and Dick had a falling out over how he handled the Tim situation- this argument got so heated that Dick essentially ragequit over Bruce's absolutely horrible response to his surrogate son getting kidnapped and tortured.

He doesn't call himself Batman in his head any more, but he can't quite call himself Bruce, either.

He killed at least two people while on the Thor while under Chouno's control- he's aware of this, and suitably hates himself for it. He doesn't remember a lot of that time, but he remembers that.

Similarly, under Chouno's control, when he was being guarded by Sakura, he spent the time berating her and poking at her insecurities. He also purposefully escaped while being guarded by Sakura, just to make her feel inadequate. He hasn't apologized to Sakura for this yet, and also hates himself for it.

He knows who stole the cookies from the cookie jar.

tl;dr batman, ooc
