winter break fun
I haven't taken this break from school for granted - I'm making sure I live it up. This past weekend was nuts. Friday night I went to the casino with Lavin ... His friend was on the VIP list so we got in for free. The club itself was interesting - more like Vegas, less like Mohegan Sun. There were a lot of people on the dance floor and a bunch of hot moms dancing on tables w/ their daughters. But they cancel each other out because you can't really grind with their daughters in front of them and I was too intimidated or not drunk enough to try anything with the MILFs. The other problem is there were definitely more guys there and a bud light was like $4 ... I prefer a night at Huskies personally. Cheaper drinks and better looking girls. After the club closed, the real fun began. We started playing blackjack ... I lost my first $100 immediately and then I bought in for another $100. Lavin also lost his money and borrowed $25 from me. With that $25, he ended up making $500 and I ended up making $200 something. Wooooo! We were playing with two other ladies the whole time who were in their 30s I bet, from New York, and had a hotel room, probably looking for two studs to party with. But we fucked that one up when we started saying shit like "this pays for spring break." Oh well. So after that we headed out at around 3:00am. I left my coat in the coat check which I left there for a couple nights after, and I stole a wet floor sign on my way out to remember the night. I woke up the next morning to a phone call at 10:15am from a co-worker ... We were both scheduled to open the store. We both got too fucked up the night before to wake up on time. I don't know what happened w/ my alarm ... I strolled into work at 11:00am. Gotta love it.
So after work Saturday night I headed up to Hartford for my company's annual holiday party. Dinner, open bar, dancing - I went with Amanda Haff and Jim and his girlfriend last year and we had a blast. This year I had a blind date so that's something new for me. She's my co-worker's date's friend and it turns out she goes to UConn too so that's pretty cool. I think everything went really well. It was a fun night. We all wanted to keep partying after the party ended but I don't know what happened. When I got back to Waterford at 1:00ish, I called Don and he said a bunch of them were partying all night in Montville so I figured why not give it a shot. I showed up to a house of very drunk kids. Keeler was wasted and wearing just his boxers until someone pulled them off and he went running away naked. Then Marshall showed up at like 1:30 ... Then McClure showed up at like 2:30 ... Such a random night. Don was retarded and in only his boxers as well. So where's the naked girls you ask? That's what I would like to know. They all kept their clothes on. So you've got a bunch of drunk half naked guys running around throwing beers on each other. Weird. Thinking I was going to sleep there since it was around 3:00am, I took a ton of shots of so-co and lime. They were more like cups than shots though. Around 4:00am - in the midst of Don and Keeler fighting each other, then Keeler and McClure almost fighting each other - I learn that everyone's gotta go home. Oh Shit. Worst, Max decides to take off and leave everyone stranded so I had to take them home. I don't advise any kind of drunk driving but I really had no choice. That being said, I drove the wrong direction on 395 and didn't realize this until I passed the UConn exit and said to Keeler - hey let's go to UConn. Wait a second, UConn? Fuck! I drove 15 minutes in the wrong direction. Finally I got to Don's house and Don stood at his door yelling that he was locked out until he reached in his pocket and found his keys. I got home and I could hear that my dad was awake and in the bathroom. I hate coming home when he's just waking up so I went straight to my room, turned off the lights and jumped in bed. I woke up the next morning, still probably shit faced, still wearing my boots, my jacket, everything. Had breakfast, waited a couple hours and went to the gym and had a great work-out. It's strange how my body works.
The weekend didn't end there though. Sunday night a bunch of us headed to the casino to get my jacket back and try to win some more money. The blackjack table had it's swings but in the end I made another $230, bringing my grand total in winnings for the break to $700! I'm pretty sure I'll end it at that and retire for a while b/c I'm thrilled with that. We had breakfast at Fidelia's after that, argued about whether or not their buffalo burger was real buffalo which to my surprise it is in fact real buffalo (how is that legal?) Dan and Don met up with some girls that had a hotel room so they stayed there for the night. Dan even gave Jim his car to drive home. I don't know ... Weekends like this make me wonder how insane Jamaica's really going to be.
Beyond the partying, I've actually been getting a lot of work done for Sturgeon Productions. I've been wanting to learn Dreamweaver, a program for designing web sites, so I've been using that and photoshop to make YESYOUGIRL.COM which as I promised, is quickly becoming the biggest thing to hit Waterford since EWS. I started w/ the pictures, now I've got the videos, it's great. I'm really feeling that entrepreneur spark again - I'm going to make a new web site soon for Sturgeon Productions and get back to offering services for web design, hosting, and now videoography. EWS and Yes You Girl are for entertainment, Sturg-Prod is for business. It's perfect. And next year semester since I have to buy a lap-top for the school of business, hopefully I'll keep it up. I have a lot of ideas. Not just for Yes You Girl, but a lot for EWS too since it could definitely bring in twice the amount of money if I put some work into it.
So that's my update - I go back to UConn next weekend so I'll probably only go out a few more nights. I have to get all my shit together before another semester starts. Peace
