Exit Heaven - Enter Hell

Mar 19, 2004 12:30

As soon as I got back from Jamaica, my own personal hell began (or should I say continued?) ... My car's battery was dead so we had to push it up hill out of a driveway into the street (while the alarm was going off at 1:00am) to be able to use jumper cables to get it started. But that wasn't enough. Next I get lost and then stuck in traffic in Boston because they closed one of the highways for repairs. Then, when I finally got off the exit at Worcester to drop off Rob's buddy, all the cars are pulled over and there's a cop standing outside of his car, gun drawn, yelling at all of the cars, "DON'T MOVE AND STAY LOW!". I'm shitting myself because I think I've driven right into the middle of a shoot out. Turns out it was a high speed chase ... I could see the car coming in my rear view mirror with like 10 cop cars chasing it ... Each car flies by me, all within a few feet of my car. Close call. But I survived. I arrived home at 4:00am only to find that there's a FOR SALE sign on my house. We weren't planning on selling until after the summer but I guess plans changed. No more parties. Now I always have to keep everything clean and have to leave the house every time somebody wants to see the house. Great.

Then the mail comes and this is when shit really hits the fan. Two thin envelopes from Central Florida and Arizona State ... I DIDN'T GET IN!!?? To either school!? For more than a year, I've been planning on getting out of this state and after all that planning, I get denied because of my HIGH SCHOOL transcript. Apparently, I either need to be 22 or have 60 credits for schools to look at my college transcripts rather than high school grades. I'm 21 and I have 46 credits. Fantastic. I had a 3.15 at CCSU and 3.25 at Uconn but my 1.8 at good ol' WHS came back to fuck me. So - I'm staying in fucking Connecticut. Cold miserable Connecticut. It's going to be either CCSU or Uconn at Storrs. I called Uconn to see if I could do their national student exchange so that I can go to another school for a year and get Uconn credit ... I'm informed that the deadline for next fall and next spring was March 1st. One more kick in the balls!!!!!

Next, I get sick. Really sick. Coughing, sneezing, stuffed up, throat kills, I can hardly talk, I'm tired all day. And then if that wasn't enough, now I have pink eye. So the doctor gave me 4 prescriptions today and hopefully that will clear everything up.

But wait, it's not over yet ... Right before I left, on my way to pick up Lavin, I got pulled over for rolling through a stop sign. The cop pulls me over literally in front of Rob's driveway. I only got a warning for rolling through the stop sign but he said my exhaust is loud and if I don't get it fixed in 3 weeks, my registration will be suspended. Today I went to Meineke to get it fixed ... $1,700!!!!!!!!!! My whole exhaust system is shot! The muffler alone is $500 and the converter is $1,200. So I have no choice but to fix it or else I lose my registration. Bang - $1,700 out of my pocket! More than my entire spring break. What else can happen in one week!!!!!!!!!!!???????????

So now I don't know what I'm doing next fall ... I don't want to go to CCSU. I don't want to go to Uconn. But it looks like I have no choice. I just hate being in this state. I want to be someplace warm. Do you see how happy people get when it's warm outside? Everyone is more friendly, everyone's outside. It's beautiful. But it's only warm here less than half of the year! Who gets happy about it being cold? So people are pissed off more than half of the year. Yeah, great place to live. I can't wait for the long walks to class next winter in the snow when it's 20 degrees instead of it being 80 degrees and walking past palm trees and beautiful girls.

At CCSU, I have a lot more credits toward my major and at Uconn I'm really behind b/c they fucked me on my transfer credits. I don't even know if I still want to major in business anymore. The job market sucks. I'm thinking about switching my major to TV Production instead because that's what I'm really interested in. That's something I'll be looking into more. Maybe I'll do both. I just hope I'm actually at a college next fall. If I get housing in an apartment with Max and Don at Uconn, I'll probably go there. If not and I get good housing at CCSU, I'll go there. It's really all up in the air. And either way it sucks.

It's impossible to have "no problem mon" in this fucking place
