yes, the world is still spinning, but not so much. i'm at about...80% normal functionality. and, with vertigo, this is a good thing.
anyhow, i haven't been able to hang out here for a while and i miss it, so here i am. [welcomes self back]
so, what's new with me? hmm... oregon was good. i'm working on being able to post my pics, but for myself this is a slow and painstaking process.
{{in fact, this is the reason that i haven't been posting... at least, why i haven't been type-posting. i have no good excuse for why i haven't been voice-posting. (BTW, mr stole, i didn't get that voicepost. i can't even see it on your journal)}}
anyhoo, oregon was good. pics and accompanying narration are coming. i miss my family and i love them to death. i'm sorry i didn't get to spend more quality time with them on this past trip, but we all knew it (my time there) was going to be short and busy, so...
TIME OUT
okay, i'm really distracted by the music i'm listening to. after having steven's cd for about a half a year, i'm finally LISTENING to "i wish we all could win". if you squint your eyes and tilt your head a bit, the vocals sound unnervingly like every-body's favorite newgrass band where a certain mr thile displays his powers of mando with flair and panache and all other sorts of impressive words that i don't know how to spell or pronounce correctly.
TIME IN
last night, i tried to clean a very old, crusty, cruddy, dirty piece of brass. my lungs do not play nicely with the brasso fumes, so i took the advice of my lovely patricio-twin and used red-wine vinegar and salt instead. so... the gross crud came off, but now my brass looks like copper. i'm not mad... i guess i would like to learn how this happened. how does vinegar and salt turn a brassy-metal into a coppery-metal? anybody have a guess? as for me, ...no se.
kelly made chili last night. this batch has totally redeemed the disaster of the horrible burned YG chili debacle...
oh crud. i have to go. but hopefully, i'll be back soon. over and out
