Fourth of July....in my little town, fireworks have been going off for a good week. They are supposed to stop on the fourth..but you know how some people are. Make sure your pet has a quiet 'safe' place to be. (certainly my cats do...one, is never bothered by all those bangs, whizzes and such...the other has her hidey hole) Don't try to 'bring the cat or dog along to see the pretty fireworks' They don't really care, and it scares them. Unless, of course, they are used to it.
Check the local shelters the week after, bet you'll see a LOT of 'just brought in' dogs and cats.
It's also getting hot. While I understand wanting to take your dog 'everywhere' with you, sometimes, frankly, it's best to leave them at home, with cool water, shade, perhaps inside. Let us not forget the heat (and humidity) that do make it harder on us, and them.
Let us (here on this community) not stop trying to get people to not be SPO's.
