The original post in the Ratties LJ Community, from the owner with the botched surgey.:
"Wtf wtf wtf. Remember Mochi, and I commented in the original post when she died that it haunted me when the vet pointed out her "ovaries"? Well, went to another vet for a necropsy. He did indeed remove her KIDNEYS. I feel so awful, I feel so awful, I don't know what to do. She was only 9 months and I literally sent her to her DEATH. Omg, seriously, I'm having a melt down."
I can't believe a vet could do that. Having been through biology classes that dissected rats it's not that hard to tell. THe D-students could tell the difference! I'm so sick to my stomach--I can't think of a worse way to die. I feel so bad for the owner in question. How do you confuse a vital organ like a kidney with an ovary?!?
