Oh Man
I believe this is my first post to this community even though ive been here for a couple of years. So here goes.
I have this friend, and she is generally a good person. But stupid. She took home these two kittens a while back and they are good friendly cats. I tried for months to get my friend to fix them through the free spay and neuter program we have in JeffCo (that ive used myself) and she said she'd get to it but never did. Supposedly because at the time she became pregnant (by a lazy boyfriend who is 23 and wont get a job) and had more important things to do. So after time, the male kitty started spraying in the house and eventually knocked up his sister. They were both still very young.
The girl cat had the 5 kittens and after a while they all started pooping and peeing in the house because the litterbox never got changed. When I asked her why, she said because she's pregnant, the fumes from the catbox will kill her baby. Then they all got fleas and worms and instead of deworming them with the dewormer I offered her, or bathing them in the fea shampoo I gave her, she tossed them outside. and wont let them back in the house. I managed to get one of my responsible friends to adopt one of the kittens and the first thing she did was bring it to the vet and get its shots and meds. However the 4 remaining kittens and the parents have been left to fend for themselves outside. Infested with fleas and swollen with worms.
Finally I got fed up and told her id call the pound to see if theyde take them all for free because it normally cost money to put them in when their overfilled and my friend claims to have no money at all (and she really doesnt). After speaking and telling the woman the story she offered to take them for free. Which is really nice because the pound is overfilled and donations are what keep the place going. I told my friend to do it so they could be treated and given loving homes. She agreed and said she'd take them in. That was a week ago.
When I brought it up yesterday, she said wants to keep the dad, and one of the male kittens, and asked me to take the rest of them in because she didnt have the gas money to do it herself.
Im going to do it because I cant stand to go into that crap infested trash pit and seeing animals suffer like that. Im going to have to take work off at one of my two jobs and pay for gas for someone to drive me to her house and then drive them into town because I dont have a license. And she does.
Im pissed.
I am also debating on grabbing all of them anyways and taking them because I know she'll be sleeping when I go there and cant tell me no.
