To start things off I'll tell you all that I work at a widespread bank. The other day when I was at work I was helping a lady get her assets in order before she went on a vacation overseas. While I was talking to her I began to hear a soft noise. I made an attempt to ignore the sound and continued conversing with the woman. It soon became obvious that she heard the noise as well, and knew the cause of it. Suddenly, from a satchel at her side, the noise grew louder. It was a persistant whimpering of a nervous animal. A tiny brown snout popped out of her bag, and, irritated, the woman shoved the nose back into the satchel. Deciding that he wanted out now a chihuahua popped his head out, pushing back the zipper. Frowning, the woman again moved to shove the dog's head back in the bag. At this point I stepped in telling her that we didn't mind if she brought dogs into the office at our branch as long as they were well behaved and had relieved themselves recently. Beaming, the dog lady pulled the dog from her purse. She bragged about how she was a 100% purebred chihuahua. Normally I would be rolling my eyes a little at this point, but the size of the animal betrayed that this 'purebred chihuahua' was obviously a mutt. He was a cute mutt, I'll give him that, but definitely not a $1000 mutt...I'm hoping that her furry fashion accessory won't get dumped in the future. He was fairly well behaved as chihuahua's go, and it was all I could to not to tuck him under my arm like a football and take him home(I'm sure my cat would love that)
Strike one: Carrying your pooch in a purse(I really don't like the idea, espeically with a small, nervous, and easily frightened animal)
Strike two: Not allowing him to get fresh air and pushing his little nose back in when he went to get some.
Strike three: Purchasing from a puppy mill/byb.
