Mike Anders dj'd at WBER from 1997 until 2002, and in that time he convinced me to be a dj, pushed me to be a better dj, pushed me to get a job in commercial radio and showed me what a true friend is. He was one of my best friends and I am still in shock. In the blink of an eye he was killed in a car accident in a freak snowstorm that no one saw coming. read below for the story.

Please pray or just wish goodness to his family and to him, wherever he may roam.

Please bear with me as I recover from this...because I can bearly fathom it, let alone snap out of it. I will be in shock for a long while now.

At least three deaths, including that of an off-duty state trooper from Newark, Wayne County, are blamed on the worst October snowstorm to hit western New York.

Trooper Michael Anders, 33, was killed when the car he was riding in crossed into the westbound lane of 104 and struck an oncoming tractor-trailer Friday morning.

The driver of the car, Todd Dingman, of Fairport, was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital.

Anders, a trooper since Sept. 2003, was last assigned to the State Police barracks in Lyons, Wayne County. His first assignment was Troop E in Canandaigua, Ontario County. He grew up in New Jersey, and moved to Fairport at age 14.
