A post about an old television show
Oh man, blast from the past! Here is a Nickelodeon show I had TOTALLY forgotten about: THE ROUNDHOUSE. It's like In Living Color for kids and was apparently in the original SNICK lineup, following Clarissa Explains It All.
Clearly this show has not aged well and is totally a product of its time, but man, I really don't think I could communicate how incredibly hip it seemed to me as a child of age 10 or so. They're all dancing and singing and having fun, and they like each other and they're all really funny. I mean, to a kid at least, this shit is comedy gold.
Also, there are girls, and I probably had a crush on half of them.
Something I'm also struck by is how much rehearsal they must have had to do. JEEZ. I don't see a lot of obvious cut points, so every take is at least five minutes long.
For anybody interested (unlikely), the other three parts of this episode are on Youtube. No other episodes though, from what I've seen.
