Parade was the bastard child

Last night... Sarah and I went to a concert of Jason Robert Brown. Yes ladies and gentlemen, Jason Robert Brown was singing. It was amazing. He sang songs from a cd he has coming out later this month (the above cd cover) and also some songs from his shows. To Sarah's delight he finally did one song from Parade but only one, and many from his other shows. But it was so good. He also had some like guest singers. The first one was a student from UCLA named Scarlett (he made sure that we knew that she had two t's in her name) and she was amazing. She will be starring in his next musical no doubt. The next one was this lady, I don't remember her name but she sounded exactly like the lady on the Songs for a New World soundtrack.. the older one. And he did say she was the first one to sing that song so maybe she was. The third one was Megan Mullally, a.k.a Karen from Will and Grace. I knew she sang (as I told Sarah, "the M&M commercial!") but she was so good. She sang the song from Last Five Years where at the end it goes "Mrs. Jamie Wellingstine/That's me" Or whatever. She sounded really good on that song but you could tell that she was having trouble with it because it is such a hard song to sing... but then she sang this other song and it was so good. Oh! and he teaches at USC! I was like that was so cool. But it was such a good concert, and we met him afterwards and he signed my cd cover, along with Sarah's and Sarah's comedy sportz friend Holly.

When we got back to Sarah's house, we watched a Next marathon, and my brain melted. And now... I was too caught up in reading Harry Potter and I totally missed Amanda's Baccalurate or however you spell it. I am a horrible friend.

I like not having work right now.
